Well this is pretty exciting! The reserve around clocktower is looking amazing 🙂🙂🙂 We will be holding an official opening once we have installed the plaques for Mick Rayner and Jenny Henson.
There's still some more work to do but we encourage people to now enjoy the beautiful timber seating, the planting and trees which will grow to provide natural shade. We're also stoked at how accessibility friendly it is 🙂
A big thanks to our Parks and Reserves team, Tom Conwell and Carterton Lions for all your help making this connected community space become a reality

Amazing project CDC. Parks and Reserves. Thanks to Lions Club. So pleased to see two amazing Carterton people recognised. 💖👏🏻

Well done everyone! Looks like it's going to be a real asset to the town's look and feel, and in such a key spot.

Congratulations, everyone involved. I walked past it today. Casual leisure space like this is so precious in a town centre. It has big social cohesion and crime deterrence benefits.

It'l be time for a new paint job on that clock soon.

A fantastic Hamish Moorhead design. Such a great space to develop. Well done to everyone who has been involved.

Such a nice job!! Moved away in 2013 but still think of Carterton as home ❤️

Gorgeous nice to have so much seating. Well done 👏

Needs some Morris dancers...

THREE WATERS REFORM:
What has Central Government asked of Councils and when will the public get a say?

* All Councils have been given until 1 October to review the information on the Government’s current proposals, including their $2.5 billion support package, and to provide feedback.
* THIS IS NOT A DEADLINE FOR MAKING A DECISION. At this stage, we still believe Councils can opt out of being part of the new entities but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
* We will be tabling our feedback to DIA for discussion between Policy and Strategy Committee members at the 26 September public meeting. This meeting will be livestreamed and the report made publicly available.
* We will make our final copy of our feedback to DIA publicly available from 1 October.

Local authorities have been asked to do the following (which helped shape our feedback):
1. Understand the key features of the proposed model and how it is intended to work.
2. Apply the proposed model to our circumstances for today and the next 30 years
3. Consider the model in terms of service, finance and funding, workforce, delivery and capability and social, cultural, environmental and economic well-being.

Any new updates will be available on our website at cdc.govt.nz/threewaters/
